The Nature of Belief

Our beliefs are fundamental to how we understand and interact with the world. They can be conscious or unconscious, and range from simple factual claims to complex philosophical or religious ideas. Humanism isn’t a religion; humanists believe we’re responsible for our own lives and actions, and for creating meaning and purpose in the world.  But how do we form our beliefs? Are we as rational as we think we are?
