The Paradox of Grief
As celebrants, we know that people really don’t like the G word.
We don’t like talking about grief because it’s painful, and because we will do anything to avoid pain, our instinct is to run away from it, but here’s the thing: if we do that, if we run away from grief – we will never recover.
That’s the grief paradox, and we’ll be talking about that with our special guest, the author of Grief, a Philosophical Guide, Professor Michael Cholbi of the University of Edinburgh who argues that the pain of grief gives us a chance to deepen our relationships with others and ourselves.
